Recommendations – WiFi
WiFi access point – Zaptec Pro supports WiFi types b, g and n (2.4 GHz). Most routers
nowadays support 2.4 and 5 GHz. Zaptec Pro needs 2.4 GHz.
Installation requirements: The positioning of the WiFi access point can have a dramatic effect
on the signal strength and performance. Get in touch with your network partner in order to
identify the best location.
• Make sure that 2.4 GHz is enabled so that Zaptec Pro can make a network connection.
• Configure a static channel 1, 6 or 11 to avoid interference between channels when several
access points are used.
• Make sure your router is not set to select channels automatically.
Zaptec recommends fitting and installing the WiFi access point or points as recommended
by the manufacturer in order to achieve optimum signal coverage and performance.

Connect as many as possible to the Wi-Fi network. If the Wi-Fi signal strength is
below -75 dBm, use a PLC on the device in question. The scale goes from -40 to -80.
Select a device with a strong Wi-Fi signal strength to act as a gateway.
