10. TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem
Auger does not stop
within 5 seconds after
auger control lever is
released.
Discharge chute or
deflector does not
work.
Scraper bar does not
clean hard surface.
Unit does not propel
itself.
Engine does not start. Key is in OFF
Engine is hard to start
or runs poorly.
Look for
Auger control cable
out of adjustment.
Discharge chute
or deflector out of
adjustment or needs
lubrication.
Skid shoes and
scraper bar
improperly adjusted.
Traction control cable
out of adjustment.

Primer button not
pressed (cold engine).
Fuel shut-off valve
(if equipped) is in
CLOSED position.
Out of fuel.
Choke turned to
OPEN/RUN (cold
engine).
Engine flooded.
Water in fuel, or old
fuel.
Fuel cap vent is

Adjust and/or lubricate control
linkage.
See Adjusting the Skid Shoe
Height.

Turn key to ON position.
Press primer button twice and
restart.
Turn valve to OPEN position.
Fill fuel tank.
Turn choke to CLOSED/START,
set throttle to FAST.
Move the choke to OPEN/RUN
position, move throttle to FAST
position, and crank until the
engine starts.
Fill with fresh fuel.
Clear vent or replace fuel cap.
