Caution:
Fill the burner with too much denatured alcohol (more than 90 milliliters)
can cause an uncontrollable fire on the burner! Therefore, be extremely
careful to put in only the maximum amount of alcohol! To be on the
safe side, it is best to put in less than the maximum amount! Never
refill the burner, as long as there is still alcohol left in it.
Caution:
Denatured alcohol must never come in contact with your skin. You
should therefore wear protective gloves when handling it. Denatured
alcohol must never come in contact with the upper surface of the
burner or with the base for the live steam engine. Alcohol that reaches
either of these locations can cause an uncontrollable fire. The burner
must always be level. If the burner is not kept level, alcohol can come
out through the drain pipe or the safety vent in the filler cap!
Tip:
If the burner or the base should begin to burn, the best way to put out
this fire is with a fire extinguishing blanket!
