Operation
3.9.1
Power supply
The unit is supplied with power from the lighting system.
The BEA 460 is set at the factory to 230 volts, 50/60 Hz.
!
Prior to start-up, make sure the lighting system
voltage coincides with the set BEA 460 voltage. If
this is not the case, the correct voltage must be
set by the Service department. It is advisable to
safeguard the BEA 460 by way of a residual current-
operated circuit breaker. The BEA 460 is only to be
operated in dry conditions.
i
The data applicable to the BEA 460 can be found on
a sticker on the back of the unit.
3.9.2
Switch-on
i
Heed the switch-on sequence: Always switch on the
BEA 460 first and then the PC/Laptop.
1. Switch on the BEA 460 with the On/Off switch
(Fig. 2, Item 6).
!
If the BEA 460 has been transported in extremely
cold or hot conditions, the BEA 460 must be allowed
to settle to between the minimum (5 °C) and the
maximum (40 °C) operating temperature limits prior
to start-up.
2. Switch on the Laptop or PC.
3. Start the "Emission system analysis" program.
i
To keep contamination of the BEA 460 to a minimum,
it is advisable to flush residual gas out of the
BEA 460 prior to switch-off with the pump running.
The sampling probe must be in the open air for this
purpose.
3.9.3
Switch-off
1. Exit from the exhaust gas test step.
2. Wait for completion of pump run-on.
3. Switch off the BEA 460 at the On/Off switch.

3.9.4
During transportation, the BEA 460 must be protected
against direct sunlight. If there is a danger of freezing,
the condensate is to be drained from the gas and
condensate drain prior to transportation. This can
be performed with the pump running by raising the
sampling hose from the exhaust gas sampling probe
end. The pump must then be allowed to run for at least
a further 30 seconds. Watch out for the Bluetooth serial
adapter, wiring and connector when transporting the
BEA 460.
