G Operating Instructions
Fountain pump, stainless steel, 120 W
Item no. 1217918
Intended Use
The fountain pump is designed for private use e.g. in a hobby garden. The product is
not intended for irrigation or irrigation systems in industrial, production or public sec-
tors (e.g. garden complexes).
Through various interchangeable nozzle attachments, the water from the fountain
pump is sprayed out in an optically appealing manner.
As a fluid medium, only clear water is acceptable (e.g. in a pond and suchlike). Never
use other liquids (e.g. salt water, gasoline, heating oil or foodstuffs). The temperature
of the fluid medium shall not exceed +35 °C.
Please read the operating instructions carefully and do not discard them. If you pass
the product on to a third party, please hand over these operating instructions as well.
Observe all safety information and other information in these operating instructions.
Any other use than that described above could lead to damage to this product and
involves a risk for short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.

Explanation of Symbols, Inscriptions
The lightning symbol inside a triangle is a warning to inform you of potential
risks of personal injury, such as electrical shock.
This symbol indicates specific risks associated with handling, function and
use.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
D amages due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the
warranty! We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
W e shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury
caused by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instruc-
tions! The warranty will be void in such cases!
a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not
permitted for safety and approval reasons (CE). Besides, this will invali-
date the warranty!
• This product is not a toy. Children are not aware of the potential dangers
involved when using electrical devices.
• The product complies with protection type IPX8.
• The product is designed according to protection class I. Only a properly
grounded socket (230 V/AC, 50 Hz) of the public supply mains may be used
as a voltage source.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could
become a dangerous plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental falls, even from a low height.

b) Installation Site and Connection
• Install and use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The use of the product in the proximity of ponds, wells, swimming pools,
springs etc. is not permitted unless the product is operated via a ground
fault circuit interrupter (circuit breaker FI, fault current <= 30 mA).
In Austria, it is not permitted to install and operate the product in the prox-
imity of swimming pools and ponds unless a safety isolating transformer
controlled by the Austrian Electro-technical Association is additionally
connected upstream to the ground fault circuit interrupter (circuit breaker
FI, fault current <= 30 mA).
• In the place of installation the ambient temperature must not be around or
below freezing point (<= 0 °C). This causes the water in the fountain pump
to freeze; the higher volume of ice destroys the fountain pump. Store the
product in a dry place above freezing point during winter.
• If you use an extension cable or it is necessary to lay cables to the foun-
tain pump, make sure that the cable cross section is not smaller than that
of the fountain pump (see label on the cable).
Use only extension cables with protected contacts designed for outdoor
applications.
• Protect the cable from heat, oil/gasoline and sharp edges; do not step
on the cable, do not drive over it (e.g. with a wheelbarrow, bicycle, car).
Never bend the cables and do not place objects on them.
• Ensure that connection for the electric plug is located in an area pro-
tected against flooding; otherwise there is a lethal danger of an electric
shock!
c) Operation
• Check the product for damages before each use, e.g. of the housing, the
gaskets and the power cord/plug.
If you find any damage, you must not use the product. Repair of a damaged
mains cable is not permitted! There is danger to life through an electric
shock!
If the product is already connected to the mains, switch off the mains at
the respective socket (e.g. by turning off the circuit breaker). Furthermore,
turn off the residual current device in order to disconnect all the poles of
the socket from the mains voltage.
Then you can remove the power plug of the fountain pump from the sock-
et. The product must no longer be used after that; take it to a specialist
workshop.
Repairs should be carried out by a specialist workshop!
• If you have reasons to assume that safe use is no longer possible, put the
fountain pump out of operation and remove the power plug from the mains
socket to secure it against unintentional operation. It must be presumed
that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the pump and the connecting lines show visible damages
- the pump does not operate any longer
- the pump was transported or stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport.
• The product is designed for the mains voltage 230 V/AC, 50 Hz of the public
supply mains. Never use the product with a different voltage.
• Always disconnect the device from the mains socket when not in use, and
before repairs, maintenance or cleaning.
• Never remove the mains plug from the socket by pulling on the cable. Al-
ways pull the plug from the mains socket by only gripping the area pro-
vided on the side.
• Never touch the plug when your hands are damp or wet. Danger of a life-
threatening electric shock!
• Carry the product using the carrying handle; never carry it by the power
cord.
• Do not block the discharge unit of the fountain pump while it is in opera-
tion. The product is not protected against longer dry runs (> 2 minutes).
• The fluid medium should be as clean as possible. Impurities (e.g. sand,
earth, leaves etc.) cause higher wear, thus reducing the life span of the
fountain pump, and also the possibility of mechanical clogging of the drive
rotor and blockage of all intake ports.
Besides, light soiling occlude the orifices of the nozzle attachments sup-
plied with the pump.
Therefore, regular functional control of the fountain pump is absolutely
essential.
