GAME INSTRUCTIONS
Keep these instructions for future reference as they contain
important information.
OBJECT
Score as many Quaffles as you can. The player with the most
points after catching the Golden Snitch™ wins the game!
INSTALLING BATTERIES
This game unit requires 2 "C" batteries.
1. Open the battery compartment door on
the bottom of the unit using a
screwdriver (not included).
2. Insert batteries as shown. Match
direction of "+" and "-" terminals.
3. Close the battery compartment and
replace the screws.
For longer life, use only alkaline batteries.
LET'S PLAY !
1. Flip the START SWITCH to the "1" (ON) position. The hoops
will start spinning.
Start Switch
2. Use the handle to aim your Figure at the
hoops.
3. Pressing the button causes the Figure's arm
to scoop up a Quaffle (one of the small,
plastic marbles), and throw it forward.
4. When a Quaffle passes through a hoop, it will
trip the scoring mechanism in the center of
the hoop and add 10 points to your score.
The game automatically keeps track of each
player's score.
5. After two and a half minutes of game-play
with no scoring, the game automatically shuts off (this zeroes
out both players' scores, if any). To reactivate the game you
must do one of the following:
a) Turn the game off and then on again.
b) Trigger one of the scoring mechanisms. You may do this by
shooting a Quaffle through a hoop or by simply tripping the
mechanism with your finger.
THE GOLDEN SNITCH™
1. The tower holds two Golden Snitches at a time. These should
always be loaded in the back chute of the tower (see SET-UP).
CAUTION : Do not
not insert any objects other than Golden Snitches
into the tower, or look down the tower while the game is running.
2. During the game, players must remain alert for the appearance
of the Golden Snitch™. It randomly launches from the tower
and both players must simultaneously try to catch it.
3. If the Golden Snitch™ bounces off either the playing surface or
the floor before someone can grab it, that Golden Snitch™ is
out of play. The players resume their game and must wait for
the next appearance of the Golden Snitch™.
4. If the players fail to catch the second Golden Snitch™ when it
pops out, both players must stop shooting Quaffles - but leave
the game running - while they reload the two Golden Snitches
in the back of the tower.
5. Once the Golden Snitches have been
reloaded, the players may resume
their game.
Golden Snitch™ Button
6. When a player catches the Golden
Snitch™, he or she presses the Golden
Snitch™ Button on his or her side of
the Field, and this ends the game.
7. The player who catches the Golden Snitch™ earns 150 points.
The game adds up the final scores and announces the winning
house (either Gryffindor™ or Slytherin™), followed by that
player's score. Next comes the announcement of the losing house
and that player's score.
8. Pressing either Golden Snitch™ button after the final score
will repeat the score.
9. If neither player catches the Golden Snitch™ by the time the
score reaches 10,000 points, the game automatically ends.
And with that, mount your brooms and get the match underway!
TROUBLESHOOTING
If the game unit fails to activate:
1. Check the battery compartment to verify that the batteries
have been inserted correctly.
2. The motor will not
not run unless the tabs on the tower have been
fully inserted into the slots on the Field. Verify that the tower
is properly positioned.
If the Figure's arm does not work:
1. Make sure the Handle has been fully inserted into the Figure
Base.
2. Make sure the arm is in the correct starting alignment. If the
arm is not horizontal when at rest (see SET-UP to see the
proper position), use your finger and rotate the arm opposite
the direction that it moves when shooting. The arm should
return to the correct position after a complete rotation.
If the Quaffles do not feed properly to the Figure:
1. Make sure that the Figure Base has been fully inserted into
the Field. You will know this when it snaps into place.
2. Use the Handle and twist the Figure to the extreme ends of its
arc. This should feed more Quaffles into the trough at the
base of the Figure.
If the sound stops or the rotation of the hoops slows:
1. Turn the game off then on to reset the unit.
2. If the problem persists, replace the batteries.
If the game fails to score Quaffles when they pass through the
hoops:
1. Remove the Hoops and Scoring Mechanisms from the Field,
then reassemble. Make sure that each piece is fully inserted
into its slots.
2. If problems persist, replace the batteries.
If the Golden Snitch™ fails to launch:
1. Turn the game unit off (the score will be lost).
2. Make sure that you have loaded the Golden Snitches into the
back hole of the tower.
3. Make sure that the two tower halves have been completely
assembled – there should be no gaps between the pieces.
4. Make sure that nothing obstructs the launch passage or load
chute within the tower.
