Problem
Trimmer head will
not advance line.
Grass wraps
around trimmer
head and motor
housing.
The line-cutting
blade is not cutting
the line.
Cracks on the
trimmer head or
the spool assembly
comes loose.

Cause
1. The motor shaft or
trimmer head is bound
with grass.
2. There is not enough line
in the trimmer head or
the line breaks from the
eyelet.
3. The line is tangled in the
trimmer head.
4. The line is too short.
1. Cutting tall grass at
ground level.
1. The line-cutting blade on
the edge of the guard has
become dull.
1. The trimmer head is worn
out.
2. The nut that locks the
trimmer head is loose.
Remedy
1. Stop the trimmer, remove the battery,
and clean the motor shaft and trimmer
head.
2. Remove the battery and replace
the cutting line by following "Line
Replacement" section in this manual.
3. Remove the battery. Remove the line
from the trimmer head and rewind by
following "Line Replacement" section
in this manual.
4. Remove the battery and pull the line
manually while alternately pressing
down and releasing the trimmer head.
1. Cut tall grass from the top down, don't
try to cut grass that is too long in one
pass to prevent wrapping.
1. Sharpen the line-cutting blade with a
file or replace it with a new blade.
1. Replace the trimmer head
immediately following "Trimmer Head
Replacement" section in this manual.
2. Open the trimmer head and use an
impact wrench (14 mm) to tighten the
nut.
