Installation and removal
Installation
1. Before starting the installation, it is essential
that the battery is completely disconnected.
2. Disconnect the installation frame from the
radio unit. If the installation frame is engaged,
use the included unlocking key to disengage
the frame.
3. Remove the old unit, including the installation
frame.
4. Verify that the new installation frame can
be properly inserted into your DIN slot. The
installation frame is designed for installation
slots with dimensions 183 x 52 mm (width x
height). Do not insert the installation frame by
force.
5. Bend the locking tabs of the installation frame
upward to ensure that the radio unit is properly
secured in the vehicle.
6. Position the radio unit in front of the instal-
lation slot. Pull the wiring harness through
the installation frame and then connect the
unit with the cables. When doing so, carefully
follow the connection diagram and verify that
all cables are properly insulated.
7. We generally recommend installing the includ-
ed spacer on the rear of the unit. The spacer
is designed to protect the radio connections
and is threaded into the thread designated for
this purpose. The included rubber cap is then
pushed on in the next step.

8. Insert of the radio unit into the installation
slot until it engages into the installation frame.
9. You can then reconnect the battery after the
radio is properly wired. Switch on the radio
unit with the ignition on, and verify that the
radio can be switched on. If this is not the
case, double check the wiring. Contact your
authorized Porsche dealer if the unit can still
not be turned on.
Information
Porsche 911 (through model year 1973):
The radio slot on this vehicle model must be ad-
justed, since the included 1 DIN installation frame
cannot be installed in the radio slot without making
modifications on the dashboard. Please contact your
authorized Porsche dealer with any questions you
may have.
INFORMATION
Damage on the radio unit: Improper connections can
cause irreparable damage on the radio unit or to the
vehicle electronics.
Precision adjustments of installation depth
In order to make custom adjustment of the installa-
tion depth for the respective vehicle model, loosen
the screws of the adjustment mechanism on both
sides of the unit. Adjust the position accordingly and
then retighten the screws.
