Before you start work, always make sure that there are no electric
cables, water or other pipelines or similar hidden in the masonry that
may sustain damage.
•
Wear hand protection, as this will protect your hands from
crushing and grazing.
•
Wear a helmet and, if applicable, install partition walls to
protect yourself and any other staff from flying broken-off debris.
•
Always hold the tool in both hands, and make sure you are
standing firmly.
•
Before you start working, always check that the chisel and bit are
firmly secured into the chuck, and will not spin out of the machine
by accident.
•
Check the chuck for damage and wear on a regular basis.
•
Only start the tool in hammer-action when held firmly against a
workpiece such as the wall or ceiling.
•
Unplug your tool from the mains before changing drill or chisel bits
or after you finish work; remove any chisel or drill bits from the drill
after you finish work.
•
Keep your tool out of children's reach, and do not let anyone use
the machine without instruction.

• Drilling into stone and concrete
• Chiselling open joins in masonry and concrete
• Demolishing masonry
•
Wear eye protection and use a dust mask if the job
at hand will create dust.
