Caut ions
• This unit is designed for negative ground 12 V DC
operation only.
• Do not get the leads under a screw, or caught in
moving parts (e.g. seat railing).
• Before making connections, turn the car ignition
off to avoid short circuits.
• Connect the yellow and red power input leads
only after all other leads have been connected.
• Run all ground leads to a common ground
point.
• Be sure to insulate any loose unconnected leads
with electrical tape for safety.
• The use of optical instruments with this product
will increase eye hazard.
Notes on the power supply lead (yellow)
• When connecting this unit in combination with
other stereo components, the connected car
circuit's rating must be higher than the sum of
each component's fuse.
• When no car circuits are rated high enough,
connect the unit directly to the battery.

• The numbers in the list are keyed to those in the
instructions.
• The bracket 1 is attached to the unit before
shipping. Before mounting the unit, use the
release keys 5 to remove the bracket 1 from the
unit. For details, see "Removing the bracket (4)"
on the reverse side of the sheet.
• Keep the release keys 5 for future use as they
are also necessary if you remove the unit from
your car.
Caut ion
Handle the bracket 1 carefully to avoid injuring
your fingers.

Notes on the control and pow er supply leads
• The pow er ant enna cont rol lead (blue) supplies +12 V
DC w hen you t urn on t he t uner.
• When your car has built -in FM /AM ant enna in t he rear/
side glass, connect t he pow er ant enna cont rol lead
(blue) or t he accessory pow er input lead (red) t o t he
pow er t erminal of t he exist ing ant enna boost er. For
det ails, consult your dealer.
• A pow er ant enna w it hout a relay box cannot be used
w it h t his unit .
M emory hold connection
When t he yellow pow er input lead is connect ed, pow er
w ill alw ays be supplied t o t he memory circuit even w hen
t he ignit ion sw it ch is t urned of f .
Notes on speaker connection
• Bef ore connect ing t he speakers, t urn t he unit of f .
• Use speakers w it h an impedance of 4 t o 8 ohms, and
w it h adequat e pow er handling capacit ies t o avoid it s
damage.
• Do not connect t he speaker t erminals t o t he car
chassis, or connect t he t erminals of t he right speakers
w it h t hose of t he lef t speaker.
• Do not connect t he ground lead of t his unit t o t he
negat ive (–) t erminal of t he speaker.
• Do not at t empt t o connect t he speakers in parallel.
• Connect only passive speakers. Connect ing act ive
speakers (w it h built -in amplif iers) t o t he speaker
t erminals may damage t he unit .
• To avoid a malf unct ion, do not use t he built -in speaker
leads inst alled in your car if t he unit shares a common
negat ive (–) lead f or t he right and lef t speakers.
• Do not connect t he unit 's speaker leads t o each ot her.
Note on connection
If speaker and amplif ier are not connect ed correct ly,
" Failure" appears in t he display. In t his case, make sure
t he speaker and amplif ier are connect ed correct ly.
