CONNECTING DISCHARGE HOSE
A discharge hose is optional, as the pumping force will propel the water away.
However, the discharge is uncontrolled. Adding a discharge hose will guide the
water to a specific location. The hose diameter must be larger than the pump's
discharge port size.
1.
Connect a hose to the pump's outlet. The hose should not be longer than
85 ft (25.90 m).
2.
Fix the end of the discharge hose with a hose clamp to prevent it from
moving around due to the force of the discharge.
OPERATION
Discharge Head (Fig. 6-1) is the amount of water the pump will discharge
through the hose at a vertical height. The amount of water, also called Flow,
decreases as the discharge height is increased. The length, type and size of the
suction and discharge hoses can also significantly affect pump output. The
maximum Discharge Head is 85 ft (25.90 m).
Suction Lift (Fig. 6-2) is the vertical distance between the centre of the pump and
the end of the suction hose. The maximum Suction Lift is 19-5/8 ft (5.98 m). A jet
pump is required for additional depth.
Dynamic Head (Fig. 6-3) is the combination of the Discharge Head and Suction
Lift. The maximum Dynamic Head is 105 ft (32.00 m).
