Some screwed connections, such as those on cylinder
heads, are tightened in several work steps (low torque –
medium torque – final value).
If a component is attached by a number of screwed
connections, they may need to be tightened in a particular
sequence, such as "crossover" or from "inside to outside" – always
work in a technically correct manner and in accordance with the
manufacturer's specifications.
5 | Storage
Store the torque wrench in a room which is protected from the
elements. The temperature should be between +1°C and +55°C with
a max. humidity of 80% (non-condensing).
Before the torque wrench is put away, it must be unlocked, and the
adjustment turning handle must be turned back until the edge is in
line with the lowest value on the scale. The torque wrench is then
not under tension. Otherwise the spring will be stretched, and the
accuracy of the indication will be permanently reduced.
6 | Cleaning and care
The torque wrench is not dismantled for cleaning or immersed in
any cleaning solution. All you have to do is clean it with a cloth and,
if necessary, some fine oil for the metal parts. External metal parts
can also be protected against corrosion with a car-polishing wax or
preservative wax.
The manufacturer has adequately greased the mechanics of the
torque wrench. If the torque wrench has not been used for an
extended period of time, operate the turning handle repeatedly. The
lubricant is then redistributed in the mechanics.
