(A) Scale
Example:
The value should be set to 40 Nm. To do this, turn the turning
handle until the reference edge, when turned to the zero position, is
exactly aligned with the mark for 40 on the scale. When setting the
torque, note that it is the lower point, which meets the vertical centre
line, that must be used each time. Otherwise the value set will be
too high. 40 Nm has been set on our example.
Or: The value should be set to 44 Nm. To do this, turn the turning
handle (D) until the adjustment edge (B), when turned to the zero
position, is exactly aligned with the mark for 40 on the scale. Now
keep turning the handle until the 4 position on the turning handle
(C) is in line with the vertical line of the scale (A).
Slide the lock at the bottom end of the handle back into the locking
position. The torque wrench is now ready to use.
Please note when you make the adjustment that it is the lower
stroke (see Fig. 1), which meets the vertical centre line, that is
to be used. Otherwise the value set will be too high. 40 Nm has
been set on our example.
