8.2.3
Cleaning the glass
The glass of the door of the fire box must be cleaned only
when the stove is cold, with a cloth or with moistened
paper rubbed on the ash. Rub until the glass is clean
(Fig. 8.2.3).
It is possible to use also normal detergents suitable for
cleaning kitchen ovens.
Do not clean the glass while the stove is normally on and
do not use abrasive sponges.
The ceramic glass resists very well at high temperatures,
but it is fragile, so avoid impacts to it.
8.2.4
Cleaning the ceramic cladding
The ceramic cladding has to be cleaned with a mild
detergent using a damp cloth.
Do not wet the surfaces with cold water when they are
hot, since a thermal shock may occur, damaging them
irreparably.
The cracks that may appear on the surface of the majolica
are due to the normal thermal expansion which occurs
during the normal functioning of the stove. These cracks
absolutely do not compromise the functioning of the
stove.
8.2.5
Cleaning the oven (stove Stuba v2 with oven)
To clean the oven, remove the grill and perform the
cleaning, avoiding to use detergents which may damage
the oven surface.
Once the cleaning is concluded, remount the grill.
8.3
Extraordinary maintenance for the
authorized technical support center
The extraordinary maintenance operations must be
performed by an authorized operator who will:
•
carefully clean the stove
•
verify the sealing of the seals
•
check the opening mechanism
•
make sure about the wear state of the different
elements
8.3.1
Maintenance and cleaning of the flue
Under normal operating conditions, the chimney must be
cleaned every 4000 Kilograms of burnt wood or at least
every year unless otherwise specified.
The cleaning must be carried out also before the ignition
after long periods of inactivity (for example at the
beginning of the season).
In the event of missing or not suitable cleaning, the stove
may have functionality problems, as:
•
bad combustion
•
glass blackening
•
poor draught with release of smoke into the room.
