Bumper removal is only necessary if the vehicle has oil cooler located behind the bumper
Front bumper removal (if oil cooler present only)
1.
Remove center trim panel: Using trim panel tool remove the plastic fasteners from the trim panel in the center of the bumper. 5 in the top portion and 5 in the bottom portion of the
trim panel. Using the trim tool pry the panel from the center of the bumper. Set aside for reinstallation.
2.
Remove bolts from behind bumper: Remove 2 bolts each side from the backside of the bumper, located outside of the frame rail directly below the forward body mount.
3.
Remove bumper bolts: Using an 18mm socket remove the 4 bolts each side located around the towhook. With a second person to help, set the bumper aside for reinstallation. Be sure
to disconnect the electrical connector for the fog lights.
4.
(If skidplate present) Loosen outer flange nuts: Using an 18mm socket loosen the flange nuts on the skid bracket attached to the frame rails, if present. Both sides, to make the
installation easier.
5.
Temporarily move oil cooler: Using an 18mm remove the forwardmost (1 each side) nuts that attach the oil cooler brackets to the frame rail. Slide the oil cooler bkt. off of the forward
bolt (each side) and pivot the cooler down, out of the way to gain access to the other nut. There is a small tab on the bottom oil cooler bracket that will need to bent out of the way for
reinstallation. Remove the bolts. Return fasteners to vehicle owners. Refer to previous page for hitch install instructions.
NOTE: If oil cooler is present, slide oil cooler bracket back on over forwardmost attachment (Oil cooler should rest just above crosstube of hitch).
