6. Charging the accumulator/cordless screwdriver

Observe all safety instructions contained in these operating instructions without fail, chapter 5. c) in particular.
Before operating the product for the first time, the accumulator safely installed in the cordless screwdriver (not
changeable!) is to be charged.
Principally, the following rules apply: A new accumulator or an accumulator which has not been used for a longer
period of time reaches its full power only after 5 complete discharge and recharge processes.
When operating the cordless screwdriver it has to be recharged:
• if the drive only moves very slowly without any load
• every 3 months if it is stored for long periods of time.
Charging without charging stand:
• Plug the plug-in charging set (
) into a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
• Connect the round low-voltage socket (
) of the cordless screwdriver
(at the grip end at the bottom) with the low-voltage plug of the plug-in
charging set.
The LED (
) at the cordless screwdriver lights up, if the accumulator
is being charged.
• Pull the low-voltage plug out of the cordless screwdriver after a
charging time of about 6-8 hours. Unplug the plug-in power pack from
the mains socket.
Charging with charging stand
Do not use the power receptacle of the coreless
screwdriver when using the charging stand.
• Insert the charging cord into the power receptacle (
• Place the coreless screwdriver on the charging stand. The LED (
accumulator is being charged.
A complete charging process takes approximately between 6 and 8 hours. During the charging process the
accumulator heats up. This is normal.
The plug-in charging set does not turn off automatically, if the accumulator is completely charged!
Battery status indicators
The charging stand is integrated with battery indicators. Press battery status indicating button (8). The LED lights to represent
battery status. When the red LED signifies the battery is almost empty.
Green and yellow LED is on: the battery is good
Yellow LED is on:

b) Inserting/removing the tool into/out of the drill chuck
For safety reasons, first the turn-over switch (4) is to be set to its central position to block the on/off switch (7).
Open the drill chuck by holding the internal ring (D) with one of your hands
and turning the outer ring (C) with your other hand anticlockwise (A, seen
from front to the drill chuck).
Insert the desired tool (a drill in the figure) into the drill chuck.
1
Tighten the drill chuck by holding the internal ring (D) with one of your
hands and turning the outer ring (C) with your other hand clockwise (B,
seen from front to the drill chuck).
To ensure that the tool (e.g. a bore bit or a drill) is fixed in the
drill chuck, it should be positioned at least 1 cm deep in the drill
chuck (bore bits or small drills). Large drills are to be inserted
completely.
Proceed as follows to remove the tool: Open the drill chuck by holding the
internal ring (D) with one of your hands and turning the outer ring (C) with
your other hand anticlockwise.

c) Function of the change-over switch (with turn-on lock)
Via the turn-over switch (4) you can switch between left and right senses
of rotation.
The correct sense of rotation is to be selected according to the
kind of work, whether holes are to be bored or a screw is to
be screwed in or out.
In its central position the turn-over switch (4) blocks the on/off switch (7)
and consequently the motor in the cordless screwdriver. Thus, you are
able to change the tools safely.
Change only the sense of rotation of the drive, if the cordless screwdriver has stopped completely! Otherwise,
the drive might be damaged.
