To obtain the most accurate measurement, observe the following:
Temperature is not measured at a single point, but rather as an average
value of a circular area "d" referred to as a measured area or spot.
As the distance "s" from the device grows, it increases at the ratio s:d =
12:1. The further the ClimateDetector is from the object measured, the
greater the measured area, and vice versa.
If the ClimateDetector is too close to the object (less than 10 cm/4 in), the
area next to the laser dot will be measured, since the laser beam will be
offset from the measured surface.
The target object must be greater than the measured area of the Cli-
mateDetector. The smaller the target object, the less the distance must be
between the ClimateDetector and the object.
Select the shortest possible distance to the area to be measured, ideally
less than 200 cm / 79 in.
Aim the ClimateDetector as perpendicular as possible at the area to be
measured.
Narrow or long objects, such as pipes, should be measured lengthwise to
provide the best possible measuring area.
Do not measure in dusty or steamy environments. Do not measure
through transparent material such as glass or plastic, since reflective sur-
faces can provide incorrect results.
Displaying the probability of mildew
The probability of mold is continuously determined based on the measured
parameters. This is shown on the display [G] as a scale of 0 to 100%; each
graduation represents 2%.
The results can be interpreted to mean that the conditions for the develop-
ment of mold are more likely as the percentage increases.
