Releasing the switch stops the measurement, and the laser is switched off.
The word HOLD as well as the last readings are statically shown on the dis-
play [D], even if the ambient conditions change.
When there are extreme temperature fluctuations, allow the Climate-
Detector to acclimate to the ambient conditions for about 30 minutes
prior to measuring.
Measuring air temperature / relative humidity / dew point
Ambient temperature AT, relative humidity RH and dew point DP are meas-
ured by sensors. The sensor [6] is located on the top side of the device.
In HOLD mode, you can switch among the following modes by briefly press-
ing the MODE button [11]:
Air temperature
Dew Point
Relative humidity
During measurement (SCAN), only the value selected at the start of meas-
urement is shown on the display [C].
!
Do not cover the openings of the sensor [6].
!
For technical reasons, the sensor, just like every thermometer or hygrome-
ter, is subject to a certain amount of lag.
When environmental conditions change rapidly (such as moving from a
cold to a warm area, from low to high humidity), wait until the sensor has
adapted and the readings have adjusted to the surroundings.
After a few minutes, the sensor will have adapted to 80% of the changed
environmental conditions.
!
Too short a waiting time will provide erroneous readings!
!
Keep extraneous heat sources (e.g. heater fan, warm hand) away from the
sensor [6] in order to avoid erroneous results.
Measuring surface temperature
The surface temperature of walls or objects is measured using infrared
technology. The lens [4] is located on the front side.
Operate the test switch [3] and point the device and laser dot at the surface
to be measured. You can measure continuously.
The ClimateDetector can also be used as a high-quality infrared thermom-
eter in the range between -50ºC to +350°C / -58°F to +662°F.
