Engine does not start:

Is there a spark at the spark plug?
!Warning!
Ensure that there is no spilled fuel in the
vicinity of the spark plug. Spilled fuel can
ignite.
Use insulated pliers or at least gloves to
position the spark plug in order to protect
yourself from electric shock.
Fuel flow to the carburettor?
If the engine still does not start,
take the generator to an author-
ised workshop.

Checking the spark plug
1. Remove the spark plug connector and clean the spark
plug of dirt.
2. Remove the spark plug and fit the spark plug connector
to the spark plug again.
3. Place the earth electrode against the cylinder head.
4. Pull the pull-cord starter. Sparks should jump between
the electrodes.

1. Set the fuel cock to "Closed" and loosen the drain screw
on the carburettor reservoir (after placing a suitable con-
tainer underneath).
2. As soon as the petrol cock is turned to "Open", fuel
should flow.

Fill up the petrol tank
Set the starter switch to "ON"

Top up with the recommended engine

If the device still does not function with newly in-
serted spark plug (because there is no spark at
the spark plug), take it to an authorised workshop

have the fuel system cleaned.
