Preventive measures
The spray extraction method may only be used if the textile layer and backing cannot be damaged.
Be careful with wood or water-sensitive floors.
•
Be careful with carpets that have been laid with water-soluble adhesive.
•
Be careful with carpets with water-sensitive backing fabric (such as jute).
•
•
Be careful with carpets made of natural fibers.
Observe the carpet manufacturer's instructions.
•
•
If you are in doubt about the color fastness, rub in a small amount of detergent on a
hidden part of the carpet using a white cloth. If the cloth discolors, the carpet is not "color-
fast".
Preparing the carpet
Vacuum the carpet thoroughly before spray extraction.
•
Pre-treat stains and badly soiled areas with special cleaning products or stain removers.
•
Use in case of normal dirt
•
Switch on both switches on the appliance for the suction device and pump (fig. 2c).
Apply the spray nozzle to the edge of the carpet and press the dosing valve.
•
•
Pull the nozzle backwards over the carpet while applying a constant gentle pressure on the
hand tube (covering 1 m in 5 seconds).
•
Close the dosing valve just before reaching the end of a track and suck up the sprayed
water.
The next track should overlap the previous one by 2 cm.
•
Drying time can be reduced if the carpet is vacuumed again with the extraction device.
•
Use in case of heavy contamination
Pre-spray with cleaning fluid with the dosing valve open and the suction motor
•
switched off.
Allow the detergent to sink in but never let it dry.
•
Cleaning as described in "Use in case of normal dirt".
•
Repeat the cleaning procedure, where possible in the transverse direction.
•
Only perform the second cleaning operation on a completely dry carpet.
Monitoring the operation
If the suction power starts to drop, empty the waste water tank.
•
Before refilling the fresh water tank (fig. 5) always first empty the waste water tank.
•
After use
Switch off the appliance.
•
Pull out the mains plug.
•
Check the filter in the fresh water tank, cleaning it if necessary (fig. 5b).
•
Empty and clean the waste water tank.
•
Storage
•
Roll up the connecting cable.
Protect the appliance and auxiliary equipment from frost.
