Safety notices
Do not pull the appliance by the power cord, do not squeeze the power cord or pull it over sharp
edges. Check the power cord regularly for damage. Replace a damaged power cord immediately with
a new one as specified in the technical data. If foam or liquid escapes from the appliance, switch off
immediately. Only use cleaning products approved by BERNER.
Proper use
The equipment described in this manual is approved for cleaning textile surfaces.
Function
Warm water mixed with detergent is sprayed under pressure down to the backing fabric of the carpet
to remove the dirt. Simultaneously, a suction unit extracts the water and the dirt flushed up from the
carpet into the waste water tank. The pile of the upholstery becomes soft and even.

Assembly
Before initial use, the appliance must be assembled:
Assemble the suction pipes.
•
Push the extraction hose in firmly onto the appliance and the extraction pipe.
•
Push the pressure hose into the connection until it engages.
•
Connect the other end of the pipe to the dosing valve until it engages (fig. 3b).
•
To remove the hose release the spring-loaded locking ring.
•
Electrical connections
The mains supply must match the voltage data specified on the nameplate!
•
Connect only to a properly installed safety socket with at least a 10 A fuse.
•
Make sure the appliance is switched off (fig. 2c).
•
Plug in the mains plug.

Filling the fresh water tank
Fill the fresh water tank with warm water (max 40 °C) and mix in the detergent (fig. 5). Dosage
of BERNER liquid detergent: 1-5%, the filling level must not exceed the "MAX" mark (210 mm
below the top edge) (fig. 5a)!
ATTENTION!
Never use foaming carpet shampoos. Only fill in low-foaming detergents that are expressly
approved for use in spray extraction cleaners.
Prevention of foam in the waste water tank
With carpets that have been shampooed several times, an excessive amount of foam may occur in
the waste water tank.
