1. Lower Exhaust: Using exhaust removal pliers, remove (3) rubber hangers from exhaust. Note: Be sure to support exhaust to prevent
damage. Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator eases removal.
2. Remove driver side splash guard: Using 14 mm socket, remove (2) plastic nuts from splash guard. Using flat head screwdriver, remove
rivets from splash guard, see Figure 2. Set aside for in safe spot for reinstall.
3. Trim Splash guard: Using die grinder, trim area shown in Figure 2.
4. Trim Fascia: Using marker, tape measure and tape, find center of fascia. Using die grinder, trim fascia in area shown in Figure 3.
5. Install hitch: Apply blue thread locker to M10 bolt threads. Raise hitch into position and loosely install M10 bolt ① and 3/8" conical
washer ② into weldnuts, see Figure 1.
6. Tighten all M10 fasteners with torque wrench to 42 Ft.-Lb. (57 N*M).
7. Reinstall: Reattach exhaust, splash guard, and hardware removed in step 2.
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged
should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for
connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
