- Connect the filling and flushing pump to the upper fill valve of the safety valve assembly
- Connect the hose to the drain valve of the flow regulator and feed it into the filling
container.
- Use a screwdriver to turn the gravity brake in the return branch (1) to the vertical
position
- Turn the ball valve (temperature display) in the feed branch (2) to the 45° position and

the ball valve in the return branch (1) to the 90° position. => no forced flow through
the solar circuit pump during filling and flushing.
- Fill the solar system slowly.
Gravity brake
- During the flushing procedure open the ball valve in the return branch (1) several
times briefly in order to purge the air from the solar circuit pump.
- Open the vent valve on the air separator of the feed branch (2) until ANRO runs out.
- Close the drain valve, adjust the system pressure, close the fill valve and remove the
flushing pump.
- Turn the gravity brake back to its initial position
valves in the feed and return branches back to the vertical position.
If the collector circuit is re-heated by the storage tank, the permissible operating
overpressure in the piping network between the storage tank and the pump as-
sembly may be exceeded!
- After the filling and flushing procedure, all ball valves in the solar station (feed and
return branch) and the adjusting screw on the flow regulator must be opened again!
- All ball valves must remain open during operation!
- The hot water storage (boiler) must be switched off for maintenance and repair work.
­ Start the solar control unit
(see control system installation and service instructions).
- Set the solar circulation pump to continuous operation
(see control system installation and service instructions).
- Turn the adjusting screw of the flow regulator to the vertical position
- Set the speed of the solar circulation pump to the required flow rate at the speed
switch (rough setting).
- The recommended flow rate can be finely adjusted using the adjusting screw.
Flow rate:
- Check the system pressure and top up the system if necessary.
