5. INSTALLATION
INSTRUCTIONS FOR
SIZES 2100-4001
The D-1 Power Vent for these sizes is installed in
the field, directly on the top panel above the built-in
drafthood. The adapter plate is anchored to the top
using the silicone sealant and screws provided. Refer
to Figure 4.
1. The standard jacket top and flue collector will be
used.
2. Mount the adapter assembly and power vent on the
jacket top, using the silicone sealant and screws
provided. Use a #28 drill (.1405") to drill the eight
(8) holes needed for the mounting screws. For sizes
2100-3001, the hardware is ¼" screw, nut, washer,
and lockwasher, 12 each. For sizes 3500-4001, the
hardware is ¼" screw, nut, washer, and lockwasher,
20 each. The assembly will be positioned towards
the rear of the heater.
Use silicone sealant between the power vent and
the adapter panel.

Note that the main housing is centered on the flue
collar of the unit. The discharge collar is offset
from that. See Table D for dimensions.
3. Mount the power vent (PV) control box on the right-
hand end of the unit, near the J-box, using the 4x
#10 screws provided. See the orientation drawing,
Figure 14.
4. Install the draft deflector panels on the underside of
the angled "wings" of the drafthood, using a pair of
#10 screws to hold each in place and an additional
pair of #10 screws to secure them together in the
middle. See Figure 14 and Figure 15.
CAUTION: The left-hand and right-hand panels are
different. The first panel to be mounted must be the
"right-hand" design, which has an additional hole
pattern near one end. This pattern mounts directly over
the J-box. A "left-hand" panel (without the additional
hole pattern) connects to the left-hand side of the
front drafthood opening, secured in the middle with
2 additional screws. Facing the rear side of the unit, a
"right-hand" panel again mounts to the right-hand end
of the drafthood and a "left-hand" panel mounts to the
left-hand side (diagonally opposite their positions on
the front of the drafthood).
