slightly forwards and to one side while rinsing, this small quant-
ity will flow quite naturally out of your mouth.
If larger quantities pass into the throat, either your mouth is not
open wide enough (so your soft palate is not closed), or the
nasal passage on the other side is so congested that the rinse
solution cannot flow back. In the first case, remember to open
your mouth as wide as possible, and if necessary shift the posi-
tion of your head slightly. In the second case, stop rinsing and
begin by rinsing the other nostril.
4 CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
The PARI MONTESOL nasal douche must be cleaned after
each use and disinfected at least once a day.
4.1 Preparation
Dismantle the nasal douche into its individual parts:
• Unscrew the bend from the reservoir.
• Pull the nasal insert off from the bend.
• Remove the valve from the reservoir.
4.2 Cleaning
• Thoroughly clean all components in warm tap water and
dishwashing liquid for about 5 minutes. If necessary, use a
clean brush to remove loose dirt (the brush must be re-
served exclusively for this purpose).
• Rinse all parts thoroughly under warm running water.
• You can remove excess water more quickly by shaking all
parts.
