2. Remove the air filter cover.

3. Remove the felt filter (A) and the air filter (B).
4. Use air or a brush to clean the felt filter.
5. Do a check of the surface of the rubber seal.
Replace the filter on the rubber seal if it is damaged.
6. Clean the air filter with warm soap water.
CAUTION: Make sure to keep the felt
filter dry. Water causes damage to the
felt filter.
7. Replace the air filter if it is too dirty to fully clean it.
Always replace a damaged air filter.
8. Also clean the inner surface of the filter cover. Use
air or a brush.
9. Make sure that the filter is dry before you assemble
it.
Fuel filter
When the engine runs short of fuel, make sure that the
air hole in the fuel tank cap and the fuel filter (A) are
clean.
The engine does not start
Check
Stop switch.

Troubleshooting

Possible cause
The stop switch is in the stop position.
Bevel gear
The bevel gear is filled with the right quantity of grease
at the factory. But, before you use the product, make
sure that the bevel gear is 3/4 full with grease. Use
Redmax special grease.
The grease in the bevel gear does not need to be
changed unless repairs are carried out.
Two piece-shaft
Apply grease to the end of the drive shaft after each 30
hours of operation. There is a risk that the drive shaft
ends (splined coupling) on models with two-piece shafts
will seize if they are not lubricated regularly.
Procedure
Set the stop switch to the start position.
