Using The Controls

Turn on the pump by pressing the "ON" button D.
The pump will turn on at the highest speed and lowest suction setting to help
stimulate your first letdown (milk release).
When milk starts to flow, decrease speed A and increase suction D to the highest
comfortable setting. If uncomfortable, turn suction down slightly.
When milk flow slows, increase speed B and maintain suction setting. When milk
begins to flow again, decrease speed A halfway. If desired, repeat this step for ad-
ditional letdowns.
Turn off the pump. After breast milk has been expressed, decrease suction C to
the lowest setting. Release button, then press and hold the "OFF" button C until
pump turns off (approximately 1 to 2 seconds). If necessary, slide a finger between
the flange and your breast to break any remaining suction, then remove the flange.
IMPORTANT
If you feel pain in your breast or nipple, turn the pump off (see above) or slide a finger
between the flange and your breast to immediately break the suction. If you feel dis-
comfort at every suction level, turn the pump off and contact your healthcare provider
for assistance.
TIP: Some users find that using the highest speed with the highest comfortable suction throughout
the pumping session yields the most amount of milk in the shortest amount of time.
NOTE: Pump will automatically shut off after 40 minutes. When preparing to store milk,
do not overfill the 5-ounce collection bottle; when freezing your milk for storage, space
is needed in the bottle for the milk to expand.

Carefully unscrew bottle G from flange. You
I
may now transfer milk into your preferred milk
storage container, such as breast milk storage
H
bags, or you can store your milk directly in the
milk collection bottle. Place the sealing disc H
G
into the cap ring I and screw onto the bottle
securely.(see page 14 for information on stor-
ing breast milk)
Note: When using as a single pump
on one breast at a time, repeat steps 1
through 3 on your other breast.
Tip: If you are experiencing difficulty
expressing your first letdown, try to
stimulate your first letdown reflex
using these steps:
• Relax and think about your baby.
• Gently massage your breasts, starting
on the outside of your breast working
toward the nipple
• Apply warm, moist compresses;
continue until you can hand-express a
few drops of milk.
