Dismantle the blade according to section 2.1.2 and the
depth gauge according to section 2.1.3
Pull the pinion out of the head piece. Unscrew the grease
cup from the head piece.

Twist the hand piece to detach it from the grip unit. Twist
the grip piece to detach it from the turnlock fastener. Draw
the grip screw out of the grip piece. Clean the parts thor-
oughly with a brush and detergent. Rinse with water and
let it dry. Do not use aggressive detergent! To connect
the hand piece, follow the above instructions in reverse
order. After connecting, press the grease cup button two
to three times.

egrinding the BlAde
The blade can be reground with a com-
mercially available grinding machine.
There are special adapter plates available
for SUHNER blades.

4.1.3 h
Ardening the BlAde

steel under a light pressure. The last pass should be
along the inside of the blade. When cutting does not im-
prove, the blade must be replaced. Contact the area rep-
resentative or the manufacturer for further information.

Make sure that the steel is held flat and over the blade's
centre line.

nside edge
The inside edge is hardened at the press of the button
when the machine is running. At the same time the hand
piece must be held downwards or away from the user.

4.1.4 h
Oning the BlAde
Before honing, clean the hand
piece of all fat and meat residue.
The blade must be honed every day with a knife sharp-
ener or a stone.
