Constant-speed electronics
Electronic speed control keeps running speed almost constant irrespective of whether the power tool is
idling or running under load. Constant running speed helps ensure maximum efficiency.
3.7
Active Torque Control (ATC)
The electronics detect potential stalling of the wheel and prevent further rotation of the arbor by switching
off the product.
If the ATC system has been triggered, restart the product. Do this by releasing the on/off switch and then
pressing it again.
If the ATC system fails, the product will run at greatly reduced speed and with greatly reduced torque.
Have the product checked by Hilti Service.
3.8
Restart interlock
The product does not restart by itself when the on/off switch is locked in the ON position and power is restored
after an interruption in the electric supply. The on/off switch must first be released and then pressed again.
3.9
Temperature-dependent motor protection
The temperature-dependent motor protection system monitors current draw and motor temperature to
prevent the product from overheating.
If the motor is overloaded through application of excessive working pressure, the product's performance
drops noticeably or it might stall completely. A standstill should be avoided. The product's permissible
overload depends on motor temperature and is not a specific value.
3.10
Front cover for the disc guard
When grinding with straight grinding discs and cutting with cut-off wheels in metalworking applica-
tions, use the standard guard with front cover.
3.11
DG-EX 125/5" dust hood for grinding (accessory)
The grinding system is suitable only for occasional use with diamond cup wheels for grinding mineral
materials.
CAUTION Use of this hood for working on metal is prohibited.
3.12
DC-EX 125/5"M dust hood for grinding (accessory)
The power tool may be used for cutting and slitting work on mineral materials only when fitted with a dust hood.
CAUTION Use of this hood for working on metal is prohibited.
3.13
DC-EX 125/5"C dust hood for cutting (accessory)
Use the DC-EX 125/5"C dust hood when cutting masonry and concrete.
CAUTION Use of this hood for working on metal is prohibited.

Consumables
Use only synthetic resin-bonded, fiber-reinforced wheels with a maximum Ø of 125 mm approved for a
rotational speed of at least 11500 rpm and a peripheral speed of 80 m/s.
The maximum permissible grinding wheel thickness is 6.4 mm and the maximum permissible cut-off wheel
thickness is 3 mm.
ATTENTION! When cutting or slitting with cut-off wheels, always use the standard guard with additional
front cover.
