4 Potential levelling
Please take note when installing the head transmitter remotely in a field hou-
sing: The screen on the 4 to 20 mA signal output must have the same potential
as the screen at the sensor connections!
In plants with strong electromagnetic fields screening of all cables with a low
ohm connection to the transmitter housing is recommended.
5 Operation
Head transmitter set-up is done using the ReadWin
is available as an accessory (see page 13).
Caution!
Please make sure that when setting up the device by means of the configura-
tion kit (see chap. 6, 'accessories') that the supply to the programming device
(=PC and interface cable) is galvanically isolated from the transmitter power
supply, e.g.
By using a battery operated PC (e.g. Laptop) when the transmitter is
already installed on plant.
By setting up without any wiring of the power supply to the transmitter.
Note!
When the interface cable is connected (see 'Accessories' on page 13), the
technical specifications (e.g. measured error) are not observed. For this rea-
son, during operation disconnect the connection via the interface cable bet-
ween the head transmitter and PC.
