OM 3423
To change the hydraulic oil or the jack's joint.
Warning! When staring the jack's maintenance, DO NOT FORGET to wear glasses and protect your face
and hands.
• Dismantle by removing the jack's cap (fig. 3-2) with the handles (fig.3-4). You
will maybe need to maintain the jack's main part in a vice with soft ends to
make sure that you do not damage the main part. Unscrew anticlockwise.
Warning! This is a spring cover, be careful while removing.
• Gently remove components 3 and 4 from the cylinder.
• Screw the T handle (fig.3-5) until the end and then unscrew and remove it
(fig.4-5)
• Push a tight screwdriver (fig. 4-9) or an approximately pen diameter shank
into the hole at the jack's head (fig.4-B), in order to push PU 6,7 and joints
and the 8 piston out of the cylinder with oil (fig.4-G). Comment: an
intermediate strength is necessary.
• Clean jack's main part bore with a clean duster, remove the remaining oil, as
much as possible and clean the removed components.
• Take the steel piston (fig.5-8) and gently push it closely into the cylinder bore, make sure
the concave side is oriented in the T handle direction.
• Gently press the (new) little PU joint (fig. 5-7) also to cylinder bore, make sure the concave
side is oriented in the main cylinder direction. Gently push the both components (7 & 8) as
close to the cylinder as possible.
• Remove the oil bottle's cap and fill in all into the jack's main bore, the normal hydraulic oil
filling is 13ml (fig.6-G).
Note: each bottle has been prepared for 13ml oil, so fill in a jack with a bottle. Take the (new)
big PU joint (fig. 7-6), as indicated, push down to the main cylinder (fig.7-X), followed by the
piston (fig.7-4) and the spring (fig.7-3).
Note: Since the PU copper joint has excellent air tightness, you need an iron string for
the air discharge when you are at the previous step. The PU copper joint with a little
notch on the copper edge, put an iron string of roughly 0,8 – 1mm diameter at the
notch and then push the joint downside main cylinder until some oil pass through the
notch and make sure not to have any air in the oil. Finally, remove the iron string.
• Put back (do not tighten too much) the jack cap (fig. 7-2)
Warning! Right orientation of the pistons and joint in the jack is essential.
• Screw the T handle (fig. 7-5) into the jack until it touches the little piston (fig. 7-8),
then turn two or three times. Clean the thread of the jack, it is now ready to use.
