1 Description and purpose
Application:
These instructions are for use by the Clinician/Practitioner.
The Blatchford Comfort silicone liner provides a cushioned socket interface and is
manufactured from biocompatible materials. It is intended for a low to moderate
activity user. Please read these instructions carefully before fitting the liner.
To optimise comfort ensure that the user is instructed in the correct way to handle
and don/doff the liner. Also ensure that they are made aware of how to maintain the
liner and to keep it clean for maintaining hygiene as set out in these instructions.
The user should be advised to contact their clinician if their condition changes.
2 Product selection and fitting
To determine the correct size
It is important that the correct size is specified to ensure proper fit and comfort in use.
Measure the circumference 4cm up from the Distal end. If an exact size is measured
choose the next size down.
Sizing Example:
After donning the liner allow the patient to wear the liner for approximately 10
minutes. If any numbness or tingling is felt remove the liner and when normal
sensation returns try the liner again if numbness occurs again do not use the liner.
If the measured size is an exact match for a Liner size choose the
next smaller size to ensure a snug fit for the Liner.
Wearers with sensitive skin, diabetics and vascular cases should
be extra vigilant and may need to apply lubricant to sensitive
areas. We recommend a routine visual check and if required the
user should consult their medical practitioner.
