Trimming
The liner may be trimmed to suit as required.
We recommend the use of a rotating disc type
cutter to achieve a 'rolled' or bevelled edge.
Trim the liner to allow a suitable overlap beyond
the hard edge of the socket. The liner may be
trimmed in a 'waveform' profile to minimise the
risk of edge effect.
Where possible try to avoid abrupt
changes of contour and sharp edges
which could cause tears in the silicone
and fabric.
Locking
When using a locking liner the integrated matrix should finish just below fibula head/
patella tendon level. The pin should be secured using Loctite 411.
If fitting with a shuttle lock ensure that the user has a socket with distal end contact.
The shuttle lock must always follow the long axis of the residual limb.
