9. Troubleshooting
With this digital recorder, you have purchased a product built to the state of the art and operationally safe.
Nevertheless, problems or errors may occur. Therefore, observe the following information about troubles-
hooting.
The camera image is not displayed
• Check that the camera is correctly connected to the digital recorder. If you are using the enclosed came-
ra connection cables, ensure correct connection (the yellow BNC plug is for the video signal, the white
cinch socket for the audio device.
• Check if the western plug of the camera connection cable or the camera is correctly latched in the res-
pective socket of the digital recorder.
Hard disc is not recognised
• The digital recorder can only handle hard discs with a capacity up to 1TB.
• Check how the connection plugs inside the digital recorder are correctly connected to the hard disc (the
small plug is intended for the data line, the larger one for the power supply of the hard disc).
Before unscrewing the digital recorder, disconnect it from the power supply and all connected
devices.
IR remote control does not work
• Observe correct polarity when inserting the batteries.
• Align the small, transparent LED with the front of the IR remote control on the sensor at the front of the
digital recorder (to the left of the two USB sockets). The range usually is several meters.
• UV radiation (sunlight or fluorescent lamps) may strongly reduce range.
No playback of audio signals
• Check if the cameras used supply an audio signal.
• If you are using the enclosed camera connection cables, check if the audio output of the camera is
connected to the audio in out (white cinch socket).
Bad image quality of the recording
• Set a higher resolution for the recording.
The recording is only black/white
• Due to the principle, the recording at night with the IR-LEDs activated will always be black/white and
never in colour.
