7. Notes on Batteries/Rechargeable Batteries
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave any batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around openly. There is a risk of batteries being
swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause chemical burns to skin at contact; the-
refore, use suitable protective gloves.
Liquids leaking from batteries/rechargeable batteries are chemically highly aggressive. Objects or sur-
faces that come into contact with them may take severe damage. Therefore, keep batteries/rechargeab-
le batteries in a suitable location.
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, disassembled or thrown into
fire. There is a danger of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal, non-rechargeable batteries. There is a danger of explosion! Only charge re-
chargeable batteries. Use a suitable battery charger.
• Make sure that the batteries/rechargeable batteries are inserted in the IR remote control with the cor-
rect polarity (observe positive/+ and negative/-).
• If not used for an extended period (e.g. when stored), remove the batteries/rechargeable batteries in-
serted in the IR remote control. If batteries/rechargeable batteries are too old, they may leak and cause
damage to the IR remote control, which leads to loss of the warranty/guarantee!
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries. Either use batteries or rechargeable batteries for the IR
remote control system.
• Never mix batteries and rechargeable batteries with different charging conditions. Always replace the
whole set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• For proper disposal of batteries/rechargeable batteries, please read the chapter „Disposal".
If you want to use rechargeable batteries in the IR remote control system in spite of the above
information, primarily use NiMH batteries with a low self-discharge.
