Installation & maintenance information
N2PS pushbuttons, N2SW selector switches and N2PL pilot lights are designed for field
installation as additional or replacement control devices mounted in Eaton's Crouse-Hinds
series NCS/N2S enclosures made of Krydon
This equipment is suitable for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups B, C, D or non-hazardous
locations only.
INSTALLATION
To avoid the risk of explosion, do not disconnect equipment unless power has
been switched off or the area is known to be non-hazardous and free of ignitable
concentrations.
To avoid the risk of electrical shock, electrical power must be OFF before and
during installation and maintenance.
1.
Remove front cover from enclosure. For field addition, prepare cover hole in enclosure
following hole pattern diagram in Figure 1.
Minimum cover thickness: 1/16"
Maximum cover thickness: 1/4"

1.
If selector switch is assembled, remove cap screw, knob, locking nut and locking plate.
2.
Select one (1) gasket when mounting switch to Krydon enclosure, or use up to three
(3) gaskets when mounting switch on panel thickness less than 1/4" .
3.
Place gasket(s) in position and then insert switch assembly through cover hole from
back side of enclosure cover or panel.
4.
Install locking plate and secure with locking nut. Tighten locking nut to 10-15 in.-lb.
torque to secure switch assembly to enclosure cover.
5.
Install knob and secure to switch assembly with cap screw.
6.
Connect wiring to switch terminals following your system wiring pattern. See Table 1
for contact arrangements.

NOTE: For three-position selector switches with suffix S634, Position 3 is momentary
contact with spring return to Position 2. For three-position selector switches with suffix
S635, Position 1 is momentary contact with spring return to Position 2.

If pushbutton is completely assembled, unthread and remove guard, marking plate
and pushbutton locking plate (suffix S708 only).
2.
Select one (1) gasket when mounting switch to Krydon enclosure, or use up to three
(3) gaskets when mounting switch on panel thicknesses less than 1/4''.
3.
Place gasket(s) in position and then insert switch assembly through cover hole from
back side of enclosure cover or panel.
4.
Install non-metallic plate (suffix S708 only) and marking plate, then secure with
threaded guard. Tighten guard to 65-70 in.-lb. torque. (Remove 1/4 turn spacer if
required to align lockout bar, S708 only).
5.
Connect wiring to switch terminals following your system wiring pattern. See Table
2.
