MANUAL DE INSTALACIÓN Y MANTENIMIENTO
SERIE MSI6
INSTRUCTION DOR OPERATING THE PUMP SET:
1.
Check the correct direction of the pump shaft rotation (not relevant in the case of
single phase motors).
2.
Make sure that the motor is filled with pure drinking cold water
3.
Ensure taht all pipe cnnections are tight.
4.
The right method of setting the correct direction of rotation in three phase motor is
as follows.
Run the pump set and note the discharge
Change the direction of rotation by reversing any two phases in the power supply
Run the pump set again and note the discharge
Higher discharge indicates the correct direction of rotation
GENERATOR POWER SUPPLY
While choosing generator, the starting current and other tolerance have to be taken into ac-
count. Make sure that constant and sufficient power is avaible. During startup, the voltage
must be at least 65 % of the nominal voltage.
SHUT DOWN PERIODS
The motor must not remain idle for more than a week since it might lead to jamming of
moving parts. If the pumpset is to remain idle for longer periods, it has to be run at least
once in every week for ten minutes. This will ensure that the pumpset is ready for service
at any desired time.

SWITCHING FREQUENCY

The life of a submersible pumping system depends upon the average number of starts
per day over a period of months or years. The life of control components such as pressu-
re switches, starters, relays, capacitors, splines and bearings will affect due to excessive
cycling. Rapid cycling can also cause motor over heating and winding failure. To dissipate
heat generated current, motor must be allowed to run for minimum 5 minutes. Based on
the maximum number of starts per day, the pump capacity, tank size and other control
devices must be selected.
The stand still time of the pump between switching off and switching on again should be
at least 3minutes.
SUPERVISION
Generally our motors do not require day-to-day maintenance under normal operating con-
dition, if properly selected and installed. However, it is mandatory to check the whole pum-
ping system at regular intervals with regards to current drawn in each phase, voltage, water
discharge, draw down water level, starters, cable, wiring, earthing and other electricals.
When any abnormality is noticed or if the motor fails to work, please refer trouble shooting
chart.
Inter changing of well water with pre-filled water may occur during operation. Avoid remo-
ving the pump and motor from the well in freezing condition. To prevent freezing of motors,
care should be taken during freezing climate condition.
VOLTAGE TEST
Measure the voltage by means of voltmeter at the control box or starter. For three phase
motors measure voltage between the two phases. For single phase motors measure vol-
tage between the line and neutral.
