ASSEMBLY
INSTALLATION OF A GRINDING wHEEL
WARNING: Be sure the tool is switched off and unplugged.
1. Turn the tool upside down. Place the backing washer over the spindle, making sure the fit is tight.
2. Place the grinding or cutting disc on the top of the backing washer, ensuring the bore of the disc fits into the step
of the flange.
3. Mount the concave recess side of the locking nut over the spindle.
4. Press the spindle lock firmly and ensure there is no movement in the spindle. Then, while the spindle lock is
depressed, tighten the locking nut in a clockwise direction using the pin spanner.
5. Allow the angle grinder to run at idle for at least 1 minute with the grinding or cutting disc correctly assembled.
Vibration indicates the disc should be stopped and immediately replaced.
OPERATION
SwITCH
1. Hold the tool firmly off the work surface with one hand on the rear hand grip (F, Functional Description) and the other
on the forward handle (K, Functional Description).
2. With your index finger, squeeze the trigger (I, Functional Description) and hold it in the ON position.
3. When the tool is running at full speed, lower it gently onto the surface.
4. You can lock the trigger in the ON position by pressing the trigger lock-on button (H, Functional Description) with your
thumb while holding the trigger in. You can now release the trigger and the tool will continue to run. This helps prevent
fatigue during jobs of long duration.
5. The trigger lock can be released if desired by again pushing in the trigger.
METHOD
1. Do not cover exhaust vents when the tool is in use. This may cause damage to the motor and reduce the efficiency of
the tool
2. For the best work results, hold the grinding wheel at a 10~15 degree angle to the work piece.
3. Guide the tool back and forth over the work piece in a steady motion.
4. When cutting, avoid tilting the tool in the cutting plane. Ensure the cutting wheel has a clean cutting edge.
5. To cut hard stone a diamond cutting wheel is recommended.
6. Do not use a cutting wheel for rough grinding.
MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
WARNING! Before performing any maintenance, be sure the tool is disconnected
from the electrical power source.
1. The armature and stator (motor) is the heart of the power tool. Exercise due care to ensure they do not become
damaged or affected by oil or water.
2. Inspect the carbon brushes regularly and replace them when they are worn down to about one third.
3. Regularly inspect all mountings and screws and ensure they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be
loose, tighten immediately. Failure to do so may result in serious damage.
4. Consult an authorized service agent in the event of failure.
5. Clean and dust the tool after each use
