RhB Control Car
THE PROTOTYPE
On some trains, the Rhätische Bahn
uses a conventional loco at one end
of the train and a control car at the
other end. The control car includes
an engineer's cab with controls
linked to the loco, making bi-direc-
tional operation possible without the
time and cost of moving the loco.
THE MODEL
This detailed replica features:
- weather-resistant construction
- "Direct" decoder interface
- two-way power control switch
- four power pickups
- voltage stabilization circuit
- automatic directional head/tail
lights (red/white)
OPERATION
Operating Modes
This model has a two-way power
control switch on the bottom. Use
this switch to turn the lights on or off.
Multi-Train System
To operate with the Multi-Train
System, this model should be
equipped with a decoder. Then the
head/tail lights will illuminate accord-
ing to the direction of travel.
This model has a direct decoder
interface. For Multi-Train System
operation, it can be equipped with
one LGB MTS Decoder (55021). The
MTS Decoder Interface Cable (55026)
is not required.
We strongly recommend decoder
6
installation by an LGB service station.
For more information, contact your
authorized LGB retailer or an LGB
service station (see Authorized Service).
Hint: If this model is equipped with a
decoder, the digital/analog DIP
switches on the circuit board must
be set to OFF. The DIP switches
should remain in this setting, even if
the decoder-equipped model is used
on an analog layout.
1.03.09 onboard decoder
When operating with the Multi-Train
System, you can remotely control the
car's functions. Press the lighting
button ("9" with remotes) to turn the
head/tail lights on or off. Press the
function button to turn the interior
lights off or on.
Power Supply
Attention! For safety and reliability,
operate this model with LGB power
supplies (transformers, power packs
and controls) only. The use of non-
LGB power supplies will void your
warranty.
Use this model with LGB power sup-
plies with an output of at least 1
amp. For more information on LGB
power supplies for indoor, outdoor
and multi-train operation, see the
LGB catalog.
Attention! After extended operation,
this model may leave carbon dust or
other debris around the track. This
dust and debris can stain carpet and
other materials. Consider this when
setting up your layout. LGB are not
liable for any damages.
