Speed control
The motor speed is adjustable (level 1 to 6)
You can adjust the rotational speed infinitely variable
with the speed control (12) and adapt it to the surface to be
processed.
Level 1  min. power = SLOW (little abrasive removal)
Level 6  max. power = FAST (large abrasive removal)
Working with the dry wall sander
Notes on usage
Firmly hold the machine with both hands when working.
Always work on nonskid and flat ground. Avoid abnormal
posture. Provide a safe standing position and keep at any
time the balance.
Place the sanding head slowly and flush on the surface
to be sanded.
The sanding head adapts to the surface to be processed.
Do not cock the device and do not press the sanding
head too firmly on the surface to avoid unevennesses and
scratches.
Move the device uniformly and in circular motion over the
surface. Do not let the device sand too long at the same spot
to obtain a uniformly smooth and plane surface.
Do not press the sanding head too firmly against the
surface to avoid damages to the device.
Remove the brush ring segment (4) to sand along edges.
Press down the lock (b) and pull off the brush
ring segment (4).
Dust extraction is not as effective without the
brush ring segment. Use the dry wall sander therefore
without the segment only when sanding edges.
To reinsert the brush ring segment (4) into the
protective hood (1) first slide the tab (c) into the opening (d)
provided on the protective hood.
Make sure that it engages with a click.
Use the telescopic handle to trim high and wide
hedges as well as ground-cover plants. (See chapter
"Assembly", section "Telescopic handle".)
Take frequent breaks when working overhead to
prevent physical fatigue.
Use only sanding discs recommended by the manufacturer
and match the grain size of the sanding discs to the surface
to be processed.
Coarse grain  large removal/pre-sanding
Fine grain  little removal/fine sanding
Test before working whether grain size and speed are
appropriate.
Pay attention the max. diameter:
Ø 225 mm
WS 225.
Do not work with low speed in continuous mode.
This may result in overloading/overheating the motor as
no sufficient cooling can be generated.

Maintenance and Care

Before each maintenance and cleaning
work:
- switch off device
- wait for standstill of the beater
- pull out power plug
Maintenance and repair work other than those described in this
chapter is only allowed to be carried out by service staff.
For maintaining and cleaning, removed security devices must
unconditionally be mounted properly and proved again.
Use only original parts. Other parts can result in unexpected
damages and injuries.
Maintenance
To guarantee a long and reliable usage of the product carry out
the following maintenance works regularly.
Check the machine for obvious defects such as
 loose fixtures
 worn or damaged components
 correct assembly and faultless covers and protective devic-
es
Necessary repair work or maintenance has to be carried
out before using the power tool.
Sanding disc
Pull off the sanding disc (3).
► Clean the sanding pad (2).
► Place the new sanding disc centred on the sanding pad and
press it down firmly.
Pay attention to the alignment of the hole patterns.
Sanding pad
► Pull off the sanding disc (3).
Loosen the screw (LH M6x16) with the Allen key (25)
and remove the sanding pad (2).
Attention! Left-hand thread!
► Place the new sanding pad and screw it tight.
Never sand without sanding pad.
Brush ring
Loosen the screws (8 x St 2.9x14) and pull out the
brush rings (5) / (5a).
► Insert the new brush rings and fasten them with the screws.
Never sand without brush rings since this reduces
dust extraction.
Extraction hose - sanding head
Loosen the mounting clip (A) and pull off the extrac-
tion hose (6).
Remove the screws (6x St 3.9x12) from the sanding
head holder (8).
Release the locking lever (10) and loosen the locking
screw (9) and fold the dry wall sander apart.
