Compass calibration
To properly differentiate interferences from the magenetic field of
the earth and to acheive the best possible measurement accuracy,
the compass must be calibrated after switching on.

• Press the COMPASS ON/OFF (1) button to switch on the com-
pass function.
• The compass is shown in the display.
• Press and hold the SNOOZE/LIGHT (2) button, and then COM-
PASS ON/OFF (1) button, until the beep sounds and the calibra-
tion display (7) blinks.
• Release the buttons, hold the compass horizontally level and
briefly press the SNOOZE/LIGHT (2) button again. Another beep
sounds.
• Turn the compass horizontally to 180° and briefly press the
SNOOZE/LIGHT (2) again to save the calibration. Another beep
sounds.
• The calibration is complete. The calibration display (7) now
shines constantly. Should it blink, press the RESET (11) button
and repeat the procedure. When calibrating, avoid possible inter-

Handling
In order to ensure proper start-up, carefully read
these operating instructions with the safety instruc-
tions!
Switching device/compass/lighting on/off
• Press the button marked PRESS on the back of the device. The
protective cover opens.
• Press the POWER ON/OFF (10) button on the back of the device
for about 2 seconds.
Calibrate the compass after switching on.
• Press the COMPASS ON/OFF (1) button to switch the compass
function on/off.
• Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT (2) button to switch on the display
lighting. The lighting automatically switches back off after about
four seconds.
To save battery power, avoid unnecessary usage of the dis-
play lighting.
Setting time, date and temperature units
Dail (15) setting
Meaning
LOCK
The alarm and time displays are locked.
ALM SET
The alarm time can be set.
TIME SET
The time can be set.
CALENDAR
The date can be set.
• Open the protective cover on the back of the device while press-
ing the button marked PRESS.
