9 Function
The Measuring station takes workpieces from the ongoing process to determine the height of the
workpieces.
A workpiece placed on the conveyor is transported to the stopper. The Rotating-Lifting module picks up the
workpiece and places it onto the measuring table. The distance sensor detects the height of the workpiece.
After detection the workpiece is placed onto the conveyor. Depending on the measurement result, the
workpiece is rejected by an electrical separator on a slide or transported to the end of the conveyor.
Through-beam sensors and diffuse sensors control the further material flow on the conveyor belts.
The conveyor can be operated in both directions.
Output signal of the distance sensor
The distance sensor has both an analogue output and a switching output. The switching output can
be adapted to the measurement requirement by means of a simple teach-in stage.
If the analogue output signal of the sensor is to be used, it is recommended to set a distance of
approx. 70 mm from the measuring table and attach the sensor at an angle of 6...8°.
