operAtion - toasting sandwiches
1. Wait until the green indicator light goes on. The baking plates are now at the correct temperature and the
sandwich maker is ready for use.
During use the heating element will switch on and off to keep the temperature of the baking plate
constant. Consequently the indicator light will also occasionally be illuminated.
The appliance may emit a little smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for the first time.
This is normal, and will soon stop. Make sure the appliance has sufficient ventilation. If necessary, toast
the first sandwiches without ham or cheese and throw them away.
2. Open the latch and lift the cover by the handle.
3. Place the prepared sandwiches in the forms in the baking plate.
4. Close the cover and click the latch closed.
If you cannot close the cover and you cannot close the latch, there is too much ham or cheese on the
sandwich. Do not try to close the cover with force; instead, remove some ham and/or cheese from the
sandwich.
5. Toast the sandwich until it turns golden-brown. With experience, you will find the correct baking time for
your type of bread and ham or cheese.
6. Open the cover and remove the sandwiches from the baking plate with a wooden or plastic spatula.
Never use a metal spatula, knife or fork. These will damage the non-stick coating.
7. If you do not want to toast any more sandwiches, remove the plug from the wall socket and allow the
appliance to cool.
Enjoy your meal!
