PILOT BEARINGS
You must install a pilot bearing in the rear of the crankshaft if the engine will be used with a manual transmission. The pilot
bearing aligns the transmission input shaft with the crankshaft centerline. A worn or misaligned pilot bearing can cause shifting
problems and rapid clutch wear. There are two different pilot bearings for the LS engines. 14061685 for a long input shaft and
12557583 for a short input shaft. Verify fit prior to transmission installation or damage will occur.
COOLANT PUMP
A 2004-2006 Escalade truck coolant pump system will align with the harmonic balancer belt track. Chevrolet offers coolant pump
kit part number 12681184 for that application.
Coolant Type
40/60 coolant/water mixture of clean, distilled water and use only DEX-COOL® approved coolant.
HARMONIC BALANCER
The harmonic balancer is offset from the front of the block to fit 2004-2006 Escalade truck applications (LQ9). The belt track will
align with that application.

TRUCK APPLICATION
The below kits are designed to fit a truck fuel injected intake manifold. The belt track will interfere with a lower profile car intake
manifold throttle body.

Other Chevrolet Performance kit will fit, but the matching harmonic balancer will be required.
NOTE: Chevrolet Performance front drive kits 19155066 and 19299070 will not fit. This iron block does not have all of
the bosses and tapped holes for attachment.
OIL PAN
This long block is built with a 2004-2006 Escalade LQ9 Oil Pan Assembly.
Chevrolet Performance sells other oil pan kits that will fit this long block if the supplied oil pan does not fit your application. Refer
to your Chevrolet Performance dealer or on www.chevroletperformance.com for the currently available kits.
