Centring marks
Three marks indicate the reference position of the conductor inside the magnetic circuit.
NB : The position of the cable in the jaws is of no importance due to the presence of the two diametrically opposite
Hall effect cells.
The special design of the magnetic circuit offers a high clamping capacity and satisfies the majority of high current
applications :
A
2 busbars 50 x 5 mm spaced by 5 mm
1 busbar 80 x 5 mm
B
1 cable Ø 50 mm
C
Reminder : The clamp must only enclose one phase conductor, which can be physically subdivided into 2 smaller
subsections. In principle, the clamp can not measure the current in a conductor that includes the live cable and the
neutral cable.
Guard
The non-slip guard, around the outside of the clamp, protects the user, when clamping a cable, from accidental
contact with an uninsulated conductor (in conformity with standard IEC 1010-2-032).

3.2 FUNCTIONS

HOLD button
Press once: this button memorises on the display the last digital value for subsequent reading, in a difficult or badly
lit environment.
Rotary switch: main functions
Switch on by selecting the main function V AC, A AC, W AC, W AC 3Ø 3C and OFF.
Secondary function buttons
With the main function selected, these buttons give access to the secondary functions and associated quantities.
MAX/MIN
:
RECORD and reading of the MAX, MIN and AVG values.
SMOOTH
:
Filtering of the measurements over 3 seconds
THD
:
Measurement of Total Harmonic Distortion and Distortion Factor on current and voltage.
:
1. Permits allocation of "+" or "-" to a PEAK value
2. On W AC or W AC 3 Ø 3C function, measurement of associated quantities: apparent power,
reactive power and displacement power factor
Hz
:
Frequency measurement on voltage or current
:
Display backlighting ON/OFF
"YELLOW" : Measurement of the quantities associated with the powers
NB :
The combination of these buttons and the switch make it possible to configure the clamp to customise the
diagnosis (see Ch 4.3 Configurations)

3.3 DISPLAY

The LCD gives two types of information :
- the digital values with 3 x 10,000 measurement counts,
- the symbols for configuration of the clamp and warning signals.
Each digital display also shows an indeterminate value: "- - - -", when measurement is impossible.
3.3.1 Top display
k
: x 1000
Hz
: Frequency in Hz
V
: Voltage in volts
A
: Current in amps
PEAK
: Peak value
±
: On PEAK, indicates the highest (+) or lowest ( _ ) value
RMS
: True rms measurement
