THD : Total Harmonic Distortion
A first press on the THD button: THD is displayed.
The display in the middle gives the value in % of the total harmonic distortion, and the lower display, the rms
value of the signal.
Reminder : The THD quantifies the total presence of harmonics (up to the 25th) in relation to the fundamental
component of the signal.
DF : Distortion Factor
A second press on the THD button: DF is displayed.
The display in the middle gives the value in % of the distortion factor and the lower display, the rms value of
the sign.
Reminder : The DF quantifies the total presence of harmonics (up to the 25th) in relation to the rms value
of the signal.
4.14 W ~ / W ~ .3 Ø. 3 C : Single phase and 3-phase powers and associated quantities
!
See the connection diagram for the powers. Measurement on 3-phase is only precise for sinusoidal
signals (see Ch 9. APPENDIX).
Having selected the main functions, the
quantities :
- W
: active power
- VA : apparent power
- VAR : reactive power
- PF : power factor
- DPF : displacement power factor
- Hz : frequency of the voltage
Reminder : The DPF corresponds to the phase shift of the two fundamental components of the signals U
and I. In the case of sinusoidal U and I signals, the DPF is equal to Cos ϕ.

4.15 MAX/MIN : Recording of max/min

The MAX/MIN button gives access to the RECORD mode and, by successive presses, reading of the max,
min, average and current values of the 3 digital displays.
RECORD : Recording
Press the MAX/MIN button: RECORD is displayed; operation is permanent. The clamp records the max and
min values, and calculates the average value since the beginning of the recording. It is possible for the
recording to last for up to 24h.
The displays continue to give the current values.
At each new max or min recorded, a beep is emitted.
NB 1 : It is possible to enter RECORD mode by presetting, by pressing HOLD then MAX/MIN.
RECORD mode is then selected on HOLD but not set off, PAUSE is displayed.
The recording will start when HOLD mode is exited. This procedure can be useful to start a recording
at a particular moment and also to avoid registering untimely max and min values when putting the
clamp in place.
NB 2 : If SMOOTH mode is run before recording, the filtered values are recorded. Pressing the SMOOTH
button during the recording cancels the recorded values; RECORD mode is reinitialised on SMOOTH.
