8.4. Microsoft Windows XP
1. Installing in an Existing Windows XP System
Once the RAID controller is properly installed and you turn on your
computer, Windows XP will find a new device while booting up, a so-called
"RAID controller". Insert the RAID driver disk now into your floppy drive and
click on "Continue". Software for your DC-150 RAID is now automatically
installed. Complete installation by clicking on "Finish".
You can verify the installation by opening the device manager under
"SCSI Controller", where the entry "Silicon Image Sil 3112 SATA Raid
Controller" should be found. If this is not the case, go to the "RAID
Troubleshooting" section of this manual.
2. New Windows XP installation
The new Windows XP installation can be compared to the new Windows
2000 installation, see paragraph 8.3.2.
9. The Graphical Silicon Image User Interface
9.1. Installation
To install the graphical silicon image user interface, unpack the ZIP
archive on floppy disk 2 and execute the file "Setup.exe." Follow the
instructions on the screen.
After installation a symbol to start the silicon image user interface (simply
called "SATARaid GUI" in the following) will appear on the taskbar next to
the clock. Double-clicking this symbol activates the SATARaid GUI. In the
window now opening you can make adjustments or configure the SATARaid
GUI. Detailed instructions for this software are found on our homepage
www.dawicontrol.com.
