AquaFast Flange Adaptor
The AquaFast flange adaptor is supplied pre-assembled and should
not be dismantled prior to installation.

1) The AquaFast flange adaptor is suitable for use on the following pipe materials:
• Metric PVC pipe
• MDPE (PE80), HPPE (PE100) & HDPE Polyethylene pipe
– SDR17/17.6 & SDR11.
The AquaFast flange adaptors should not be used with a support liner
when used on either PE or metric PVC pipe.
2) Ensure that:-
• The pipe material, diameter and wall thickness / SDR Rating
(if used on PE pipe) are suitable for the AquaFast flange adaptor.
• The pipe surface is clean and does not have any score marks
that may provide a leak path under the gasket.
• The cut end is square.
3) Slide the AquaFast flange adaptor fully onto the PE/PVC pipe. (See fig 1)
4) Align the pipe, the AquaFast flange and the mating flange. Ensure the setting gap
between the two flanges is between the maximum and minimum values follows:-

5) Fit flange gasket (Viking Johnson recommend the use of an Inside Bolt Circle
– IBC - gasket) and ensure it is concentric with the mating flange bolt holes.
Insert the flange connecting bolts, slide the AquaFast flange adaptor towards
the mating flange and fit the flange connecting bolts.
6) Fully tighten the flange connecting bolts using standard bolting procedures.
7) Tighten the AquaFast flange adaptor bolts (F), working round the fitting giving each nut one or two turns
at a time to draw up the end ring evenly. Continue tightening until "Positive Stop" Feature of the AquaFast
flange adaptor is achieved. (See fig 2)
8) "Positive Stop" Feature of AquaFast flange adaptor
The metal to metal "Positive Stop" feature of the AquaFast flange adaptor means that installation is completed
when the end ring, intermediate ring and flange adaptor body are all in contact with each other. (See fig 3)
Note: If the positive stop condition is not achieved, loosen the flange connecting bolts and continue step 7.
When positive stop is finally achieved re-tighten the flange connecting bolts.
