AQUAFAST COUPLING
The AquaFast couplings is supplied pre-assembled and should not be dismantled
prior to installation.
A
B
1) The AquaFast coupling is suitable for use on the following pipe materials:
• Metric PVC pipe
• MDPE (PE80), HPPE (PE100) & HDPE Polyethylene pipe
– SDR17/17.6 & SDR11.
The AquaFast coupling should not be used with a support liner when
used on either PE or metric PVC pipe.
2) Ensure that:-
• The pipe material, diameter and wall thickness / SDR Rating
(if used on PE pipe) are suitable for the AquaFast coupling.
• The pipe surface is clean and does not have any score marks
that may provide a leak path under the gasket.
• The cut end is square.
3) To aid installation mark both pipes at a distance from their ends equal to the
overall length of the coupling. (See fig 1)

4) Slide the AquaFast coupling fully onto one of the PE/PVC pipe. (See fig 2)
5) Align the two pipe ends and adjust the setting gap between the two pipes
(See fig 3) ensuring it is between the maximum and minimum values shown
on the setting gap table.
Using the marks made in (3) slide the coupling to a central position over
the pipe ends. (See fig 4)
6) Tighten the AquaFast coupling bolts (F), working round the fitting giving each nut
one or two turns at a time to draw up the end ring evenly. Continue tightening
until "Positive Stop" Feature of the AquaFast coupling is achieved. (See fig 5)
7) "Positive Stop" Feature of AquaFast coupling
The metal to metal "Positive Stop" feature of the AquaFast coupling means
that installation is completed when the end ring, intermediate ring and
coupling centre sleeve are all in contact with each other. (See fig 6)
