VIRAX has over 20 years' experience in designing and manufacturing electro-hydraulic and electro-mechanical sanitary crimping tools.
Samples are regularly taken from production and are tested under extreme conditions. Each tool is tested individually during manufacture
to check that it is operating correctly.
1- Unpacking
Thanks to modern manufacturing techniques, it is highly unlikely that your tool will be defective or a part will be missing. If, however, you
do find a problem, do not use the tool before the parts are replaced or the fault is corrected. Failure to respect this rule may cause
serious injury.
2- Introduction
Your new tool has been designed and produced according to quality standards to meet the highest requirements. It is easy and safe to
use. Using your tool correctly will guarantee that it will last a long time.
Warning!
Read this manual carefully before using your new tool. Pay attention to the "Warning" sections. Your electrical tool has
characteristics that will make your work easier. This instrument has been designed and produced according to all safety
requirements to ensure that it is easy to use and maintain.
Do not throw portable tools out with domestic rubbish!
Waste from portable tools must not be discarded with household waste. There are specialist sites for collecting and recycling
portable tools.
RESPECT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
In order to protect the environment, the appliances, their accessories and their packaging must be able to be recycled
appropriately. Our plastic parts have been marked to enable selective recycling.
3- General safety warnings for the tool
WARNING:
▪ Read all the safety warnings and all the instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may
lead to an electric shock, a fire and/or a serious injury.
▪ Keep all the warnings and instructions to be able to refer to them later.
▪ The term "tool" in the warnings refers to your portable tool supplied by the mains with power cable.
3.1. Working zone safety
▪ KEEP THE WORKING ZONE CLEAN AND WELL LIT. Poorly lit or untidy zones are sources of accidents.
▪ DO NOT OPERATE ELECTRIC TOOLS IN EXPLOSIVE ATMOSPHERES (FLAMMABLE LIQUIDS, GAS OR DUST). Electric tools
create sparks which may cause dust or smoke to catch fire.
▪ KEEP CHILDREN AND ANY PEOPLE PRESENT AWAY FROM THE WORKING ZONE. Distractions may cause you to lose control of
the tool.
3.2. Electrical safety
▪ THE ELECTRICAL TOOL'S PLUG MUST BE ADAPTED TO THE ELECTRICITY SOCKET. NEVER MODIFY THE PLUG IN ANY WAY.
Unmodified plugs and adapted electricity sockets will reduce the risk of electric shock.
▪ AVOID ALL PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH EARTHED SURFACES, SUCH AS PIPES, RADIATORS, COOKERS AND FRIDGES. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is connected to the earth.
▪ DO NOT EXPOSE THE TOOLS TO RAIN OR DAMP CONDITIONS. Water entering the tool will increase the risk of electric sh ock.
▪ DO NOT MISUSE THE LEAD. DO NOT USE THE LEAD TO CARRY, PULL OR DISCONNECT THE TOOL; KEEP THE LEAD AWAY
FROM HEAT, LUBRICANT, SHARP EDGES OR MOVING PARTS. Damaged or tangled leads increase the risk of electric shock.
▪ WHEN USING A TOOL OUTDOORS, USE AN EXTENSION SUITABLE FOR OUTDOOR USE. Using a lead suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.
▪ IF YOU CANNOT AVOID USING A TOOL IN A DAMP LOCATION, USE A POWER SUPPLY PROTECTED BY A RESIDUAL
CURRENT DIFFERENTIAL (RCD). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
▪ CONNECT THE TOOL TO THE CORRECT ELECTRICITY SUPPLY SOURCE. A higher electricity source than the one indicated may
cause serious damage to the user or the tool. Using a lower electricity source than the one indicated in the manual may damage the
motor. If you have any doubt on this subject do not connect the tool.
▪ IF NECESSARY, USE AN EXTENSION ADAPTED TO THE TOOL. To avoid any overheating, unroll the extension cable fully. Make
sure that the extension cable section conforms to the intensity of the current consumed by the tool.
▪ DO NOT USE THE TOOL WHEN ITS CABLE IS DAMAGED. DO NOT TOUCH THE DAMAGED CABLE. DISCONNECT THE TOOL.
Damaged cables increase the risk of electrocution.
